Florist Flower Tonic gives us three top tips on creating an easy Autumn tablescape this season...

1. Consider Colours
Thinking about your colour palette is a great place to start your feasting table. Is your aesthetic muted and moody or warm & vibrant? Use a tablecloth or surface as your base colour & think about foods that will fit well together to create the look you’re going for.

2. Bring the outside in
As the weather turns and we spend more time indoors, incorporating natural materials into your interior can make your home feel cosy and harmonious. Forage or buy dried flowers to create different heights & textures throughout your grazing table – you can decorate your plates, napkins or weave a runner of dried materials throughout your table. It’s the season for Pampas grass (Cortaderia) here in the UK so now’s the time to forage it – responsibly!
You can even clean your empty food jars and bottles & use them as vaseware on your table. Using a range of vases and bottles in different heights and sizes will help create visual interest.

3. Create contrast
Feasting tables are all about the visuals. Crisp, white serveware can act as a beautiful & elegant contrast against warm, earthy tones. I’ve used Corelle’s Vitrelle Coordinates serveware here – the crisp, clean, white dishes cut through the natural Autumnal tones to really level-up your Autumn aesthetic. The contrast of the warm acacia wood is a winner!
